SERVICE EXCELLENCE ACROSS

Our Client Sectors

Landfill & Brownfield Sites

GGE Alliance partners have worked extensively with both public and private sector clients in the solid waste management industry, as well as with brownfield property owners, in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Our experience encompasses more than 500 facilities operating in a broad range of site, operational, and regulatory settings. Clients rely on GGE Alliance partners to help them site, permit, and design new solid waste disposal facilities, and to increase the utility of capped facilities through the development of clean energy generating solar installations.

Through the development of facilities on capped landfills or brownfields, property owners can develop world-class clean energy projects on these environmentally challenged and underutilized properties. Working together, the GGE Alliance partners are dedicated to engineering today’s environmental challenges into the renewable resources of tomorrow, creating a brighter future for our clients and communities.

Electric Power Utilities

The electric power industry faces numerous challenges in the coming decade: the ongoing shift to a smarter grid, distributed generation, energy storage, intermittency, Clean Power Plan compliance, cybersecurity, demand response, dynamic pricing, an evolving customer engagement paradigm, and post rate-of-return capital management, amongst many others.

Amidst this highly dynamic environment, the GGE Alliance partners are well positioned to assist electric utilities on energy matters including distributed generation, microgrids and energy storage. Additionally, the GGE Alliance is uniquely capable of assisting utilities with extremely environmentally challenged properties, such as capped coal ash ponds. The development of solar facilities on such properties offers electric utilities the possibility of commissioning world-class clean energy projects on their environmentally challenged properties. Working together, the GGE Alliance partners are dedicated to engineering today’s environmental challenges into the renewable resources of tomorrow, creating a brighter future for our clients and communities.

Public Sector

We understand the business of local government and the daily demands of strict accountability, tight budgets and deadlines, as well as responsibility to a broad spectrum of stakeholders and constituents.

The GGE Alliance partners have worked closely with municipalities, counties, and local agencies throughout the United States continually since 1983, providing services in environmental consulting, natural resources management, engineering design, construction management, and the development of clean energy projects. We work closely with public sector clients to address today’s most pressing environmental challenges, such as renewable energy generation, waste and natural resource management. Situations of particular interest are those at the intersection of these issues such as the redevelopment of closed municipal landfills and other underutilized properties.

Through the development of solar facilities on municipal landfills or brownfields, municipalities can develop world-class clean energy projects on these environmentally challenged and underutilized properties. Working together, the GGE Alliance partners are dedicated to engineering today’s environmental challenges into the renewable resources of tomorrow, creating a brighter future for our clients and communities.

Commercial and Industrial (C&I)

The GGE Alliance has experience across the diverse spectrum of the highly varied C&I sector, both with respect to property utilization for clean energy generation as well as demand-side energy management, utilization, and efficiency strategies.

GGE Alliance partners help owner and operators of clean energy projects qualify their projects to meet environmental credit requirements, certify the environmental benefits, and market the credits to buyers in the marketplace. For renewable energy systems already in development or installed, GGE Alliance partners can help owners and operators qualify their plants to meet Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) requirements, certify the plant’s production of RECs, and monetize the credits. Our partners also provide state-of-the-art Measurement & Verification (M&V) services for evaluating energy savings from microgrid projects as well as advanced, cloud-based software packages for the real-time monitoring of microgrids and the operational optimization of microgrids.

Specialized Experience

GGE Alliance specializes in turning the potential of renewable and alternative energy facilities associated with landfill sites, brownfield sites and other locations with challenging development conditions into practical realities for developers, owners, and the communities they serve.

We have the technical expertise and regulatory insights to power site development for solar energy projects. We work with site owners and energy system technologists to design solar systems for specific sites, including panel mounting systems, foundations, conveyance, and supporting infrastructure design. For public, private, and independent power producers nationwide, we provide turn-key development and construction management for distributed generation solar projects and provide expertise in environmental, geotechnical, and hydrological engineering and environmental regulatory affairs.

Our recent, relevant experience includes feasibility evaluations, permitting, design, development, financing and construction management services for both concentrating solar energy facilities and photovoltaic solar energy systems on landfill, brownfield, and greenfield sites.
